A few weeks ago I made this post about being irked when genderqueer folks use they/their/them in reference to themselves as singular beings.

Then I found this blog entry that really helped me understand how there are many ways this can be correct. I am a humble human being who is not afraid to admit when I am wrong, so I’m passing this along.

While I am a huge advocate for the singular “they” and encourage my students to use it rather than the bulky “he or she,” I know I am not the authority on it… so here’s a link to someone talking about this.
